This sets the tone for the rest of the montage.
All of the shots of artists working are at night time
and all of the shots of artists preparing paints and stencils are during the day.
The light source for most of the shots in the film are lamp posts or a passing cars head light. This heightens the realization that they are risking a lot to make the world beautiful. Hiding in the cover of darkness to paint/stencil images around the city. You start to view these artists as a sort of vigilante group. Protecting the streets from advertising and consumerism.

Great start: remember to describe two examples for each technique. You have started to explain why this technique was used in this way by the director, but try to expand on this. Why does the director draw this parallel between the artists and vigilantes? How are they linked? How does this use of lighting compare to the lighting in the rest of the film? Why does it appeal to the target audience? How does it show us something about the characters in the film? Check my blog for more ideas on what to include for analysis/ Excellence.
